About

I'm a psychotherapist in private practice, which means I spend my days sitting with people in their most vulnerable moments. It's an extraordinary privilege.

I came to this work the long way. I studied literature first, which turns out to be excellent training for therapy. Both are about listening for what's underneath the surface. Both require you to sit with ambiguity and resist easy answers.

I got my MSW from Columbia, trained in psychodynamic therapy, and have spent the last decade working with adults, adolescents, and families. Most of my clients are navigating anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, or the particular challenges of parenting in these times.

How I Work

I believe that most people already know what they need. My job isn't to tell you what to do. It's to help you hear yourself more clearly.

I'm interested in patterns—the ways we repeat old strategies that once protected us but no longer serve us. I pay attention to what happens between us in the room because that often mirrors what happens in your life outside of it.

I ask questions. I notice contradictions. I point out strengths you might not see. I stay curious about your experience instead of assuming I already understand it.

Why I Write

I write because therapy happens behind closed doors, and I think there's value in making some of what I've learned available to people who might never sit in my office.

I write about the themes that come up again and again in my practice: How we learn to be with difficult feelings. How we pass our own struggles to our children, and how we can do that less. How we build relationships that can hold us.

I write to figure out what I think. Writing is how I process what I'm learning from my clients, my own therapy, my kids, and this bewildering experience of being alive right now.

Outside the Office

I live in Brooklyn with my family. I'm a parent, which has taught me more about humility and repair than any graduate program ever could.

I read compulsively—novels, memoirs, anything that helps me understand how people make sense of their lives. I run, though not as much as I'd like. I drink too much coffee and think constantly about the gap between who we are and who we want to be.

If You're Looking for a Therapist

I maintain a small private practice and occasionally have openings. I work with adults and teens, both individually and with families. I'm in-network with several major insurance plans and also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots.

If you're curious about working together, the best next step is to reach out. We can schedule a brief consultation to see if it feels like a good fit.
